Recital and Picture Information
What an exciting Month!
The Cinco De Mayo parade and performance will be held this Saturday on May 5th. All pom classes will be marching in the parade and our company classes will be performing at the church after the parade. Pom classes need to meet behind the Courthouse by 9:00am dressed in your costume. Hair is to be in a high curly ponytail. Please wear black shoes and don’t forget your poms and a water bottle! We will be having a float for all other dancers if you wish to be in the parade. If you would like to ride our float, please arrive behind the Courthouse at 9:30am in your new black and gold recital t-shirt which will be handed out this week. Be sure to bring a water bottle because it is always pretty warm on Cinco de Mayo. We hope to see you there. Also, our Company dancers will be performing at the Catholic Church at 1:30pm that day for those who would like to come and watch.
The recital is this month! It will be held on Saturday, May 19th at EAC Fine Arts Auditorium. The Mini Show will begin at 11:00am. The Junior Show will begin at 1:00pm. The Senior Show will begin at 5:00pm. We are also going to have a special show for our Graduating Seniors at 7:30pm. They will be doing their Senior Solos and it will be a very special time for them. Tickets are not required for this show and we would love to invite any and all to come enjoy this special event. Please have your dancer arrive a half-hour before the show that he/she performs in so that we can be ready to dance on time. Please look at the show orders, they will be posted at various places in the studio, to make sure that we do not have your dancer’s numbers too close together. We really try to give them plenty of time to change between numbers. If we over looked any please let us know ASAP.
Dress Rehearsal for the Mini Show will be held on Thurs, May 17th at 4:00pm. The Junior Show Dress Rehearsal will be held on the same date Thurs, May 17th at 6:00 pm. The Senior Show Dress Rehearsal will be on Friday, May 18th. We will begin with the Graduation Show at 3:00pm so all Graduates and will need to be dressed and ready by 3:00pm. Company dancers need to be there dressed and ready by 4:00pm. All other dancers in the Senior Show please arrive at 5:00pm. All Dress Rehearsals will be held at EAC Fine Arts Auditorium. Please understand that Dress Rehearsal is very important and that all dancers are required to be there. This is the only chance that your dancer has to practice on the stage and we would really like for everyone to be there. It is a Dress Rehearsal so please wear your costumes. We would like to encourage all dancers in the Mini and Junior Show to have a parent to stay with them for the dress rehearsal. Lots of important information is given at the dress rehearsal and if a parent is not there, they will miss that information. As soon as your dancer is finished with his or her number(s), you will be allowed to leave. At the recital, we will have stage moms assigned to stay with each class back stage so that parents may watch in the audience.
If you have not yet purchased your tickets, they are still available on line. Go to www.tututix.com to purchase your tickets. Please be sure that you know which show your dancer is in so that you purchase tickets for the correct show. Please let us know if you are unaware of which show your dancer is in. Please make sure that all costume balances and tuition is paid by the recital. I would really hate to not let a dancer be in the recital because their balances are not paid. We would appreciate you taking care of this before the rehearsal to prevent long lines. All dancers will be required to stay back stage until the show is over unless you specifically talk to Jenny before the show. Each dancer will be participating in the finale so we would like everyone to stay. For the finale you will be wearing your green recital shirt over your costume. Please make sure that you include this with your costumes on the day of the recital.
Please do not forget that Picture Week is the week after the recital! Attached is our picture schedule, Please look it over carefully. We would like everyone to be there for the group pictures, even if you are not planning to buy any. If any of you have questions or conflicts with this, please let us know.
Also attached is a flyer about our summer dance program. We hope that you will look it over and join us for a fun filled summer of dance.
As part of our #SpreadLove campaign for this year, we are collecting blankets for children who are entering foster care system. Often these kids are not able to take anything with them when they are removed from their family. Something as simple as a blanket helps to bring peace and comfort, as well as gives them something that belongs to them, during a very scary time in their lives. You can drop off new (store bought or hand made) blankets at the Safford Dance Academy. We will also be collecting blankets at our dress rehearsals and our recital. We know that something as small as a blanket could make the biggest difference to these children. This is our goal this year to Spread Love through small and simple act of kindness, compassion, and love. Please help us spread the word, so that we can provide this comfort to these children entering foster care, and please donate blankets for these children.
We are excited about pictures and hope you will all be able to come. Please understand that if you are not on time for your pictures, you may risk not being in the group picture. We would like for everyone to be able to participate in the group picture so please be on time. Also, if you are unable to make it to your scheduled time, please let us know ASAP so that we can try to adjust the schedule. We may not be able to accommodate everyone, but we will try. On-Line Ticketing Information
We are very excited to now offer on-line ticketing! For your convenience, you will no longer have to wait in long lines to get your tickets. You will order your tickets from the comfort of your home or smart phone. This letter is to give you all new information that you will need for the on-line ticketing process.
1. It is very important that you know which show you will need tickets for. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable so it is important that you buy tickets for the show that you need. Please check your April newsletter for the information about which show your dancer is in.
2. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 14th. On-line sales will remain open through Wednesday, May 16th. After that date, if there are any remaining tickets, they will be available for purchase at the Dress Rehearsals or at the door. Tickets will be $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children ages 5-18. Under 5 are free but will have to sit in laps. When you use your credit card there will be a minimal fee of 5% added to your final price.
3. If you have dancers in more than one show, you will be able to get tickets for the additional shows at a reduced price of $3.00 per ticket. Anyone watching a show, including dancers in other shows will need a ticket. Important!!! If you need tickets for more than one show, you will need to come to us or call us and ask us for a Promo Code, so that you can get your tickets at the reduced rate of $3.00. You will have to get your Promo Code April 14th . Promo Codes will only be given to those who ask for them so please be sure to ask us for it before tickets go on sale. Each family will be given a different Promo Code and these Codes will only be able to be used for one transaction.
4. Step by Step Instructions:
A. Go to the website www.tututix.com
B. Click on Purchase Tickets or Buy Now
C. Type Safford in the search box or scroll down until you find our shows, Safford Dance Academy presents, “Celebrating 20 Years of Love Through Dance”. Please note that there will be an option for Mini Show, Junior Show, Senior Show. Be sure that you click on the correct show.
D. Click on Buy Tickets
E. At this point you will be able to choose Best Available. If you are unhappy with the seats that were selected for you, you will then be able to select the seats you would like.
F. After selecting your seats, you will then check out using a credit card. You need to print your tickets and bring them to the show with you.
G. If you are using a Promo code, put in the Promo code and then when selecting your seat for adult or student, there will also be a choice for the $3.00 price. Click on that and the discount will be given to you.
6. If you have difficulty with this on-line process, you can call TuTuTix at
855-222-2TIX (2849). They can assist you with any problems. They are open Mon-Fri 8:00am-8:00pm Central Time and Sat-Sun 9:00am-5:00pm. You also have the option of order tickets over the phone.
